Nintendo Wii: Awesome surprise in store for E3 2011?

On the heels of a story I just posted regarding the Nintendo Wii successor, apparently E3 2011 will be very good for Wii owners and that we should mark those wonderful dates in June for some amazing content. Check out the quote below:

“I guess we haven’t made any announcements recently because we’ve been concentrating on the 3DS launch, but there are still lots of games to come. I’m sure you’ll see at this year’s E3. For anybody who has a Wii, they can rest assured that we’ll be bringing some fantastic new experiences to them.”

– James Honeywell, Nintendo UK

Let’s see, Pikmin 3, Pandora’s Tower, Kirby, Pokemon and Zelda for this year’s Wii lineup… Doesn’t sound too shabby if you ask me…. More as it develops…

Wii 2 in within 12 months?

The following comments come from Strategy Analytics. It’s in regards to Nintendo’s next console:

– Wii’s sales will fall by just over 10 million units over the year
– this would put it in 3rd place for consoles
– this makes for a perfect situation for Nintendo to “launch a Wii successor within the next 12 months.”

A “Wii 2” would definitely make sense and I can’t wait to see what Nintendo comes up with for their next home console but they have continually denied the existence of such product. I guess only time will tell but I do hope we hear something regarding their next console in the very near future.

What do you guys think…. Is it time for Nintendo to bring out “Wii 2”?

Mark this one down as a rumor until we hear an official statement from Nintendo. I know I can’t wait!!!
