5 Characters we Want in Smash Bros Wii U

One of the most important titles in development for the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS is Super Smash Bros. The Super Smash Bros. series is undeniably entertaining and has provided some of the best gaming memories of my life. E3 2013 will make the official unveiling of Smash Bros. U and it should be phenomenal. We here at myvideogamenews had got to thinkin’ what new characters we would want in Smash Bros Wii U and narrowed it down to the top 5…

So, without further ado, here is a list of 5 characters we want in Smash Bros Wii U:

Wreck it Ralph

“I’M GONNA WRECK IT!” Now who doesn’t want to hear that in the next Smash Bros. game? I think Wreck it Ralph would be an amazing addition to Nintendo’s popular fighting series and has made our “5 Characters we Want in Smash Bros Wii U” easily. He could be a compliment to the bigger characters in the game and could have a number of cool moves at his disposal… Plus the big guy looks like he belongs in a fighting game and what better franchise than Super Smash Bros.? I feel that this would be a pretty sweet cross-promotion for both Nintendo and Disney and the possibilities could be endless.

Lil Mac

Lil Mac showed himself as an assist trophy in the last Smash Bros. and we feel that it is time for him to step out of that role and into the fighting arena. Lil Mac’s move set would be pretty straight forward but this addition to the Smash Bros. roster would help suffice the inner Nintendo fanboys in all of us. Even if they decided to not include everyone’s favorite under-dog boxer, anyone from the series would be a great fit as well (King Hippo anyone)?

Chase McCain

Chase Mccain’s first adventure recently hit the Wii U and it seems only natural that Nintendo should include him in the next Smash Bros. game. LEGO City Undercover is an awesome exclusive for the system and would introduce new players who may not be familiar with Chase. Why not include him in the next version of Smash? It would help showcase Wii U’s exclusive title and hopefully bolster sales for LEGO City Undercover as well.

Bowser Jr.

I think it’s time to let little Bowser Jr. shine and what better way than to introduce him as a new, playable character in Smash Bros. Bowser Jr. is Bowser’s awesome child and is the Koopa King’s heir to the throne… Now is the perfect time to bring him into the fighting genre and I would love to see what Nintendo could come up with in terms of fighting moves. Make it happen Nintendo, make it happen!

Yarn Kirby

I LOVED Kirby’s Epic Yarn. I’m also 31 years old and feel very comfortable saying that. Kirby’s Epic Yarn was one of my favorite titles of last generation and I think the addition of Yarn Kirby would be an interesting move by Nintendo. It would breath new life into an old character and could help freshen up Kirby as a fighter. If Nintendo didn’t want to give the Yarn treatment to Kirby, they do have an all new “Yarn Yoshi” title in the works…. Perhaps a Yarn Yoshi character would fit perfectly as well?

Thanks for reading everyone! What 5 characters do you want to see?

  1. All great ideas. I really hope Nintendo surprises with these inclusions and then some. I think this is the generation where Nintendo really has no reason to hold back.
    Why’d U guys stop at 5?
    Here are some more:

    Vanessa Z. Schneider – P.N. 03
Rawk Hawk – Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door
Billy Coen – Resident Evil Zero
Geno – Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars
Tetra – Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
Skull Kid – Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask
    Samurai Goroh – F-Zero series
    Mike Jones – Star Tropics

  2. I LOVE these kinds of lists.

Bowser Jr. is not for me.

I don’t like Yarn Kirby either, but if he was like a “skin” for the real kirby that would be ok by me.

Not keen on Wreck It Ralph, he’s not established enough I don’t think. He must been more popular overseas because in Australia his movie kind of fizzled.

Lil Mac was on my list too, he deserves a spot, not just as an assist trophy.

Again, Chase McCain hasn’t had enough exposure, but I like him and I’d let him into the next Smash.

  3. Why the wii fit trainer and not Midna?! She has a game named after her; C’mon!

  4. My five characters:
    Metal Sonic- Sonic the Hedgehog
    Midna- Twilight Princess
    Pac Man- Pac Man
    Paper Mario- Paper Mario
    Little Mac- Punch Out!

  5. Adding yarn kirby to the official roster is a waste of space. an skin would be better.
I hate wreck it ralph. mickey mouse or sora would be perfic.
Little mac would awesome and browser jr. as well.
chase mcCain would good but he’s a lego love a lego in this game.
