So I recently came across this Kickstarter campaign and it blew my mind. It is for an upcoming iOS app that allows people to draw their own video game. Pixel Press is an iOS & Android app that lets you draw your own video game level (no code required!) and share it with others. After watching the video I reached out to the creator of Pixel Press and here is our interview:
First and foremost, tell us a bit about yourself…
I live in St. Louis MO and have been working in the Interactive space for nearing 14 years, spending the last 5 focused on mobile. My background is in UI and UX, and some gaming, so bringing a “builder” platform to the gaming experience is a good fit for my background.
I have watched the video over at kickstarter, but for those who haven’t checked it out yet, how did this app/idea come about?
Back in January of this year, I was reminicing with some friends over our childhood pasttimes, including drawing video games. I was also looking into OCR (Optical Character Recognition) tools at the time, and when I put the two together, the idea clicked, and I started build a paper prototype. I received a great deal of positive feedback from the outset and it spiraled from there. Continue reading →
So Microsoft has officially shown its next generation hand with the XBOX One and the system has seen its fair share of backlash. The companies coming out party focused on changing the landscape of home entertainment and all the features that will have the XBOX One taking over living rooms everywhere. With all this controversy over Microsoft’s newest console, they have found themselves in a very interesting position for this year’s E3. We know what to expect in terms of entertainment with XBOX One but what about the games?
As of this writing, E3 2013 is about 10 days away from rearing its beautiful head and here is why Microsoft will win E3 2013.
Nintendo has unleashed an all new, New Super Luigi U trailer. The trailer was shown during a mini-Nintendo Direct that took place in Japan earlier today. The downloadable title will be 1.5GB and will be available to download on June 19th (JP), June 20th (US), June 20th (UK). The retail version (which features that AWESOME green box art) will be available to purchase July 13th (JP), August 25th (US), July 26th (UK). Each of the new levels will only allow players 80 ti complete so things are bound to get dicey.
Here is a beautiful Castle of Illusion – Behind the Scenes trailer for everyone to watch. The game looks like it’s going to be something very special and I will have my eye on it leading up until its release. The level of detail in this remake is astounding and it’s remarkable to see how far video games have come in such a short time.
Check out the Castle of Illusion – Behind the Scenes trailer and let me know what you think.
Nintendo has been hosting a “Wii U Summer Showcase” where fans can get hands-on time with the system’s games and learn more about the innovative hardware. The company recently went to Disneyland and, much to our surprise, The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD was on display.
Although the game wasn’t playable, Nintendo did bring along a beautiful poster that depicts the first art from the GameCube HD remake. The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD is easily one of my most anticipated titles this year and I cannot wait to see/hear more about it in the coming weeks.
If you are a Wii U owner you owe it to yourself to play this amazing title. The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD is set to release later this year exclusively for Wii U.
Nintendo has revealed the official boxart for Sonic Lost World and it looks fantastic. The game, which is a Wii U exclusive, will no doubt be apart of Nintendo’s E3 plans and I am fully expecting this one to be playable at select Best Buy locations come next month.
I find this box art colorful and vibrant and is one of my favorite box arts for a Wii U title.
Here is an AMAZING video of DISNEY INFINITY: Toy Box Racing. I have said it before and I will say it again; DISNEY INFINITY is going to be HUGE. This game really has it all and I cannot wait to get my hands on the game this August.

Here is the first Sonic Lost Worlds debut trailer for your viewing pleasure. Sonic is back and discovering a lost world in this Wii U and 3DS exclusive. The trailer shows a nice mix of gameplay and cut scenes and has left a positive impression on me thus far. On the last Nintendo Direct, Sega and Nintendo had announced an exclusive partnership for the next 3 Sonic titles so this one is only headed to Wii U and 3DS.
Enjoy the Sonic Lost Worlds debut trailer and let me know what you think.
Capcom has confirmed that the acclaimed Mega Man X will be coming to the Wii U Virtual Console on Thursday, May 30th in North America. The Super Nintendo classic will include off-TV play which is quickly becoming my 4 favorite words (include off-tv play).
When this SNES gem is released, will you be downloading it?
