Sony is in a very interesting position for this year’s E3. They have already announced its next generation console back in February and we have already seen what to expect from the system. Sony has embraced raw horsepower coupled with social gaming and is set to unleash its next generation console later this year. With a number of 3rd parties already singing the praises of the PS4 and nearly every company already showing interest in the system, Sony is poised to have a very strong showing at E3 2013.
This year’s E3 is less than a month away and here is why Sony will win E3 2013.
There are only 2 things better than new technology; God and family. Yeah Sony is just beefing up its next system with raw horsepower but the inner tech geek in me is screaming “gimmie more, gimmie more!” From what I am hearing, the PS4 is VERY easy to develop for and there are “no limitations” to the new system. Think about that for a minute…. Developers are describing Sony’s PS4 as having no limitations and are fully embracing the system. Now how much of that is technical garbage talk is yet to be seen, but it still sounds promising to me. There is no denying that the PS4 is going to have a TON of games at the show and that’s what the show will be all about. I have a feeling that we are going to be blown away with the sheer amount of games that will be reaching ALL of Sony’s platforms and the company should walk away very pleased with its results.
The gaming community just seems very excited about Sony’s PS4 and with good reason. With titles like The Last of Us (PS3), Final Fantasy X&X2 remake, a bunch of surprises, Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag, Infamous: Second Son, Killzone: Shadow Fall, Drive Club, Watch Dogs, Battlefield 4, Destiny, Diablo III, Knack and many others, the star of Sony’s E3 2013 show will no doubt be the PS4 and its technically impressive games.
Now imagine IF they announced a release date for the system? It would be hard to steal Sony’s thunder with a solid release date/lineup if they are announced at this year’s E3.
And then we come to the new PS4 controller. Oh that new controller… How powerful a little “share” button can be will take some time but having the ability to post some of my sweetest kills/gaming moments right from my controller is an amazing tool and empowers us gamers to share what we love doing most. I think that the social aspect of the PS4 is going to take the system to new heights and I am most interested in this more than anything. Yeah, we know that all the games will look better and the system is going to be very powerful but the whole idea of instantly sharing my gaming moments really has me excited and can open up a number of possibilities for developers to exploit.
I also have a funny feeling that we will see 2 price drops from Sony’s camp. The PS Vita is in need of a price drop and with the PS4 scheduled to hit later this year (some rumors point to possibly October but I think November), I can see Sony also dropping the price of the PS3 as well.
Bottom line is that everyone knows that Sony is bringing the PS4 and it’s hard for anyone to not get excited for a new console. Sony PS4 sure looked impressive back in February and I cannot wait to see what is shown at E3 2013.
Thanks for reading and let me know what you guys think.
*Next week, after the next XBOX reveal, we will do a similar article for Microsoft and why they will win E3 2013.
