Why Am I Still Hearing That The Wii U Needs More Games?

Super Mario 3D World, The Wonderful 101, Game and Wario, Need For Speed Most Wanted, The Legend of Zelda Wind Waker HD, Rayman Legends, Zombi U, Assassin’s Creed III and IV, Batman: Arkham Origins, Call of Duty, New Super Mario U, New Super Luigi U, NintendoLand, Darksiders 2, Dues Ex, Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze, Wii Fit U, Just Dance, Resident Evil, Injustice Gods Among Us, Lego City Undercover, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, Splinter Cell, Pikmin 3 (have you had enough yet) and the COUNTLESS, quality eShop titles places Nintendo’s new system as a game machine with plenty of must have titles… But, just today, I still hear the moans about the system NOT having games. I simply do not get it.

I think that the Wii U is a fantastic system but people aren’t really interested in the system at all. Mario Kart 8 will give the system a nice sales boost but Nintendo really needs to start showcasing their amazing lineup as the perception still seems to be that the system doesn’t “have games”… With E3 2014 just over a month away, it’s high time Nintendo starts tooting their successes with the Wii U and change people’s perceptions. Sony and Microsoft have come out the gate swinging with their next generation systems and Nintendo needs to combat it.

I guess this is just more of a rant than a “news story” but it makes me furious to STILL here the remarks about the Wii U not having games.

What do you guys think?

  1. Agreed with this article. PS4/XBO is selling off hype, not games. If only ppl took more notice of WiiU. A lot of ‘directs’, Nintendo barely depicted one WiiU game at a time and kept dishing out the 3DS software.
This E3 they have to dish out the software for WiiU, and much of it

  2. Your only hearing that Wii U needs more games from haters of Sony Nerd Kingdom. People who don’t play their ps4 because THEY don’t have any games to play besides all their indie games. PS4 is full of 1985 8-bit looking indie games and Sony makes a big deal about it. I’m sure they might announce 50 new games at E3 but I bet 49 of those 50 games are 8-bit indie games. Might as well save yourself the $400 and buy a $100 Ouya. And now they are saying Sony is going bankrupt, yea it shows. They don’t have the cash to secure exclusives like TitanFall.
It’s just a matter of time that Sony and the Sony Fanboy Nerd Kingdom falls…

  3. A lot of those games are worse versions of titles I can already get on PS3 and Xbox 360. The other good exclusives don’t last very long, like Zelda and Mario, and games like the Wonderful 101 simply aren’t that exciting. If you want to just grasp for whatever titles are out for a given system I have indies that probably outnumber and out score the games on Wii U on my PS4. You can’t be giving Nintendo a free slide just because they’re Nintendo. They desperately need games – ones that will last, and ones that will generate excitement.

  4. Ok…it needs more games people actually want to play. Having COD or AC on the platform does not rectify the problems of lacking 3rd party support or the fact that those very games are available on competing platforms that offer greater software variability. Also, Nintendo fans have to rid themselves of the notion that everyone wants to play Mario, Zelda, DK or Mario Kart regardless of how fun the fan base may perceive those titles to be. Mario cannot effectively compete for mindshare with GTA, BF4, Witcher, Titanfall, Infamous and other games people actually want to play. Nintendo hardware is finally being seen for what it really is…a Mario box. Gamers want more social, software and media consumption options the WiiU cannot provide. Simple as that.

  5. I agree about the hype thing. But I wonder what’s going to happen when the hype runs out. It’s not like their going to stop selling, right? Because since all your friends have a PS4, why would you get a Wii U? Does that mean that the intial launch sales are all that really matter?

  6. dont care about mario or zelda just want a metriod that doesnt suck and a star fox and f zero or maybe an uprising sequel

  7. I know very few ppl at all with a new gen system here. Currently not every one has PS4s and no one owns a WiiU. Currently they’re actually pretty close in total sales.
But this E3 will tell a lot I think

  8. it’s always a challenge for people to change their preconceptions. it’s a variety of factors. i think the Wii U’s challenge is its own company’s stubborness and the ignorance of the mainstream. The loudest fools always get heard most. 10 millions warmongers drown in circle jerks while 2 million people have a blast with a new mario game, so the 10 million soldiers of course think their fellatio parties are more significant than everyone else’s idea of fun, and that everyone should adhere to their idea of fun. Basically this world prefers a loaded gun in your kid’s hand than a whimsical break from the violent misery of the world. Machismo at all costs; everything else is “gay” or for “babies.” Co-exist? That’s for fagboys! It’s all about numbers! The bigger the better! Always goes back to size. Power to the Phallus, but always in war, never in love.
