Say what you want but Nintendo has revolutionized E3 this year. With its whimsical Digital Event unveiling a number of outstanding titles to its Live Treehouse show, Nintendo is killing it at this year’s E3… And this is just the beginning. Players from all over the US will be able to join in on the fun and play Smash Bros in the coming days at select Best Buy locations. Yes friends, it’s a great time to be a gamer and an even better time to be a Nintendo fan. Whether you like them or not, Nintendo may have just revolutionized gamings biggest show.
E3 2014 will go down in the books as something special. Microsoft focused solely on video games with their XBOX One, Sony showed amazing, technical achievements with their powerhouse PS4 and Nintendo approached E3 2014 with a care free attitude and delivered pure joy to gamers around the world. It seems as though every time we were watching the Treehouse live event, something new and interesting would pop up and it got us very excited. We can’t help but wonder if Sony and Microsoft will take a page out of Nintendo’s book and shake up the traditional E3 format next year. Imagine if all three of the big companies gave us extended, developer insights on their most promising games just like Nintendo is doing this year… It would be amazing for gamers and the industry as a whole.
For the first time, gamers were treated to a intimate presentation from the people who are actually involved with development of these key titles and delivered it all via the power of social media.
It’s exciting, it’s ambitious and it will revolutionize the way E3 is presented. We hope you all enjoy it this week. Stay tuned for all things E3.
