There are few things we can count on in life. Death, taxes and come November time, there will be an all new Call of Duty title hitting our home consoles. Yes my friends it’s that time of year when the gaming community is treated with an all new entry into the franchise and whether you love the series or loath it, it’s inevitable that the game is coming.

Read our official Call of Duty Advanced Warfare review and find out.

First things first; if you have a next generation console (well, current gen now) you are in for a treat with the new Call of Duty. The character models literally jump off the screen and are some of the most impressive to date. We all know that graphics do not make gameplay but it’s hard to deny that Call of Duty Advanced Warfare is one sweet looking game. The explosions look real, the guns are fantastic and the environments are out of this world. It’s a true testament as to what the PS4 and XBOX One can do and will impress even the naysayers of the series.

Call of Duty Advanced Warfare changes things up a bit in terms of some new gameplay mechanics. Don’t get me wrong, this is still the Call of Duty that we have all come to love (or hate) but with the inclusion of the exo-suite, gameplay felt fresh and new and gamers will be treated to a refreshing style of gameplay that is a welcome addition to the series.

The single player campaign is a neat little story that has a variety of missions to help keep gamers on their toes. One mission will have you flying through crowded cities on hover bikes while others will have you flying drones and gunning down all your enemies. It has great variety and made me feel empowered while I was playing through the missions. The game also has some very nice set pieces and the story is told through classic Call of Duty style montages.

The weapons in Advanced Warfare, and the title all around, sound incredible. When a building explodes and guns are shot, it all sounds realistic and I was taken away by all the theatrics that went along with it.

All in all, we are very impressed with Call of Duty Advanced Warfare. The reason why we are keeping this review short and sweet is because gamers may have already made up their minds regarding the game. Some have come to love this yearly franchise while others simply don’t get what all the fuss is about. Being on the “fan” side of the series, we are very happy to report that Call of Duty Advanced Warfare feels fresh and new. The game feels “next gen” and we have loved every minute of it. If you have yet to make the Call of Duty plunge, this may be your best bet.

Call of Duty Advanced Warfare gets a 9.5 out of 10.
