New reports are suggesting that the Wii U has moved just over 8 million home consoles to date. While these numbers are nowhere near PS4 and XBOX One numbers, Nintendo seems to have enjoyed a healthy Holiday season and 2015 looks to be another stellar year for the company. With titles like Kirby and the Rainbow Curse, Yoshi’s Wally World, Zelda Wii U, Xenoblade Chronicles, Splatoon, Star Fox, Devil’s Third and more, hopefully Nintendo will see another healthy year for the system. Here is what VGChartz had to say about Wii U sales:
Nintendo’s 8th generation home console, the Wii U, has seen a boost in sales in recent weeks due to the holiday season as well as the success of Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. The game has nearly sold two million units worldwide.
The Wii U has now sold more than eight million units worldwide, with sales of 8.22 million units. The console hit this milestone for the week ending December 13, 2014, where it ended up selling 220,529 units.
