SPLATOON – TREEHOUSE LIVE TOWER CONTROL FOOTAGE

Want to check out some all new Splatoon footage? Well check out the treehouse live presentation from Nintendo above. The Wii U exclusive has been a runaway success for Nintendo already shifting over 1 million copies worldwide. When we first saw the game at last year’s E3, we thought it had all the markings of a stand out title and it’s great to see the game doing so well.

Check out the tower control footage above and let us know what you think.

IS THIS THE HORIZON: ZERO DAWN BOXART

8104jkg3I8L._SL1500_

Horizon: Zero Dawn was one of the best surprises to come out of Sony’s press conference. I simply cannot wait to hear more about this game. I want to run around its massive world and take down those enormous “robot dinosaurs” enemies. Check out the image above as we are possibly looking at the final box art for the game. Although Horizon: Zero Dawn is a ways out (2016 sometime), we think that this could end up being the final boxart as it seems pretty final to us.

What do you guys think? I think that the design will change up a bit but it’s not a bad looking boxart.

unnamedbau3u

Shovel Knight, the indie stand out title from last year, is now officially headed to retail according to the development team at Yacht Club games. Here are all the juicy details for the game:

North America: October 13, 2015
Europe: October 16th, 2015

$19.99 MSRP

Available on Nintendo 3DS, Wii U, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, (PC – Europe only)

Pre-Orders should be live at your favorite retailer: Best Buy, Wal-Mart, Target, Gamestop, Amazon…you name it! To make as big of a splash as possible, and to let retailers know that they need to stock up, you should definitely pre-order now!! We’d consider it a huge personal favor; thanks in advance!

What’s in the box?!

The physical version of Shovel Knight contains everything we’ve released so far. First, there is the original Shovel Knight campaign with all the content you know and love! Also included is Shovel Knight’s first content update: Shovel Knight: Plague of Shadows. Finally, there’s a full-featured Challenge mode with more than 50 crazy challenge levels to explore!

Of course, like the digital version, every boxed version will also receive FREE future updates as they become available:

Specter Knight’s Campaign – A full campaign starring the shadowy scythe spinner!
King Knight’s Campaign – A crazy campaign with the gilded goob himself!
Battle Mode – Duel with up to 4 players as your favorite heroic or villainous knight! (Wii U/PS4/XB1/PC exclusive)

Body Swap Mode – Did you ever wish Shovel Knight was a lady, or Shield Knight was a dude? Well, now you’ll be able to change them all around, along with the rest of the cast!

Oh, and one more thing: every boxed copy of Shovel Knight will include a lavish instruction booklet similar to the Kickstarter reward. No 2-page inserts here! You deserve a full manual, to hold in your hot little shaking hands and pore over as you wait to get home!

This game is said to be one of the best out there so if you have yet to pick up the title, this seems like a pretty great deal.

ADORABLE YOSHI’S WOOLLY WORLD UK COMMERCIAL

Here is an adorable commercial for Yoshi’s Woolly World for Wii U. This new commercial is for our readers in the UK so be sure to keep your eyes peeled for this one on your TV. I am hoping Nintendo decides to advertise this Wii U gem pretty heavily when it’s released here in the States. I am in love with the art style for Yoshi’s Woolly World and it will be a day 1 purchase for me.

Check it to and enjoy.

Mobile Browser Game of The Week; Plants vs. Zombies

hp_pvz_franchise_logo

Another week, another update for our “mobile browser game of the week” column. These stories offer bite sized games that we have been playing around with in our mobile browser on our smart phones. The featured title this week is non other than, Plants vs. Zombies! Plants vs. Zombies is one of the best titles around and takes the tower defense style of play and injects a nice dose of humor. Pop Cap games really hit it out of the park when they released this one and now you can play the game in your mobile browser.

In case you live under a rock and have no idea what Plants vs. Zombies is, players are tasked with growing defensive plants in order to keep zombies away from your house! The undead have invaded your backyard and it’s your objective to stop them. Use your gardening skills to set up the perfect army of crops and stop those pesky Zombies. Sunlight and gold will help you beat the undead in Plants vs. Zombies. Different plants have different powers and by no time players will be planting a number of different plants in order to fend off the Zombie infestation.

It’s a novel concept and one that has not only taken the mobile gaming market by storm but has spawned numerous toys and collectables as well. I cannot visit my local video game retail store without seeing a number of Plants vs Zombies items. Who would’ve thought that these adorable characters would turn into such an phenomenon but we are pleased someone had the crazy idea planting around in their head. The appeal of the game is wide (basically everyone who try it out ends up loving it in some way) and we see this one sticking around for the long haul. We have already seen a sequel head to the mobile market and even a number of spin off games like Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare have seen the next gen treatment.
