It’s E3 time everyone, aren’t you excited? With everything that has been revealed thus far, we can’t WAIT until next week! Yes my friends, this time of year is a gamers Christmas and we here at MVGN have been glued to the computer for any juicy rumors or gaming news we can get our hands on. Since we have to wait a week before the real show begins, we wanted to take some time and try and predict E3 2015’s winner before the show even starts. Now before we start into this article, I would like to point out that we are going to try and steer away from the cliche “everyone is going to win E3” even though there are going to be some big hitters from everyone at the show.
So, without further ado, here is who we think will “win” this year’s E3 2015.
Full disclaimer: We love games. We find this source of entertainment to be a huge part of our lives and will continue to do so forever. Nothing beats an amazing video game or a fun filled night with family and friends gathered around the tube playing a great title. I STILL play the Borderlands series into the we hours of the morning and watch countless hours on YouTube showcasing people’s awesome video game collections. I don’t really prefer any system over the other as they all have their positive aspects. This is an opinion of one and we hope you share your thoughts on the subject in the comment section. I honestly love this time of year and have fond memories of it from year’s past. Now, with this statement out of the way, here is who we think will win this year’s E3.
Whether we like to admit it or not, we all have a special “E3 score” in our minds. We silently root for our favorite company and when said company drops a bomb, we cheer for joy as we are excited that that “bomb” they just dropped is headed to our favorite system. Last year, Nintendo revolutionized how they would show off their titles at E3 by showing off a special Direct and giving gamers an all access pass by live streaming gameplay of their games and even offering playable demo’s at local Best Buy stores. They made it even more interactive and made a huge splash at last year’s show. Microsoft had to pull a “360” on all things XBOX One and have been on the right track since. The company is set to reveal a new XBOX One bundle (bigger hard drive) and has a lot of momentum coming into this year’s show. Sony is the all out winner thus far for this generation of consoles. The system seems to be doing all the right stuff in terms of, well, practically everything and the PS4 is going to have an outstanding show. The system STILL sells swiftly and we are very eager to see what they will show for their big Holiday title. With all of this said, we feel that Microsoft is set to steal the show.
All of the big 3 are going to have something special and it was very hard to come to this conclusion. I think that XBOX One has some pretty decent momentum coming into this year’s E3 and the company is going to have a TON of titles that are set to release this year. Microsoft really has ONE system to fully concentrate on (see what I did there) and doesn’t have the distraction of a handheld to deal with. Nintendo will have some amazing things for the 3DS and we are really wondering what the heck Sony is going to do with their PS Vita system. Microsoft has really turned things around with the XBOX One and since the price drop, the system has been closing in on Sony’s impressive sales (last month the XBOX One actually lead in terms of hardware sales for the US).
Not only are they coming off a pretty decent year, we think that the company is going to show a lot of games that we will be able to play THIS YEAR. Nintendo is going to have amazing games but the Wii U has one foot in the grave already (despite being one of my favorite systems of all time) and some of the biggest PS4 titles have been delayed into early 2016 (Uncharted 4 and Ratchet anyone?).
Microsoft will not only showcase a plethora of games that will be playable THIS year, they will no doubt give us a glimpse of what’s to come for the system as well. Overall, we think that a Gears of War remaster, Scalebound, The Rise of the Tomb Raider, Call of Duty (complete with XBOX One exclusive items), Gears 4 (possibly), Rare’s new project, an all new Forza, Halo 5, Plant’s VS Zombies, Crackdown, Phatom Dust, Fable Legends, a ton of 3rd party support and a number of indie stand outs, Microsoft may be too much to handle and come away with “the win” for E3 2015.
Overall we can’t wait to hear from everyone. My inner gamer is pulling for Nintendo as I love the Wii U and the company overall. The PS4 is one amazing piece of hardware that we love to play every single time we boot it up and Microsoft is headed into this year’s big show with some swagger. All I know is that come next week, I will be one happy gamer and I can’t wait for this year’s festivities.
Thanks for reading and let me know who you think will come out on top.
