Game of The Year: Overwatch

Today is the last day of 2016. It was a great year in gaming and 2016 brought some of the best titles that I have played in quite a while. Uncharted 4 dazzled me with its outstanding graphics and incredible gameplay while the successful revival of the gruesome DOOM video game made gamers everywhere smile with gory joy. Forza Horizon 3 for XBOX One was a massive accomplishment, while the new Pokemon games took the mobile world by storm (both 3DS AND iOS). Battlefield 1 is the new crowned king for the “wartime FPS” genre while Gears of War 4 rocked everyone’s world. Yes my friends, 2016 was a very memorable year for video games but one game that stood out more than the others was Blizzard’s OUTSTANDING Overwatch.

Overwatch is one of those “special” games. One that comes along once in a generation that just grabs your attention and never lets go. It was released great and has grown to become even greater. Adding maps, new gameplay elements, characters and skins, Overwatch has sucked up most of my gaming time for 2016. It’s spot on gameplay and beautiful graphics sprinkled my Sony Television well into the night and made me feel like a kid again. I played and played and played this game until my fingers hurt and still came back for more. Overwatch has a massive set of lovable characters and the more I play, the more I fall in love.

I could go on and on about the game but I wanted to just keep things short and sweet and announce what game we thought deserved to be 2016’s Game of the Year. Overwatch is like a Pixar movie with guns and is the ultimate team based FPS. My buddy and I have played this game until our eyes bled and I don’t see us stopping anytime soon. I know this may be a “safe” pick for GOTY, but Overwatch IS that special.

Thanks for reading this quick little article and we want to know what YOUR game of the year is. Let us know in the comment section.

Happy New Year!

Super Mario Run Reaches 50 Million Downloads

Super Mario Run has already reached 50 MILLION downloads on iOS! The game has been a “runaway” success and will no doubt continue its dominance well into the Holidays. Nintendo Japan tweeted earlier today that the mobile title has officially reached 50 million downloads on Apple’s iOS platform. I wonder how much that converts to in money…

Nintendo is sure to be pleased with these crazy numbers!
