Battleborn, Gearbox’s shooter, has officially gone free to play. The new version of the game will feature unlimited access to the multiplayer modes and maps. 6 heroes will be available to play at any one time, and will be swapped out weekly.

Players who already own the game will be treated with the Founder title and Founders bonus content, including Legendary Gear, 1,000 Platinum, 50,000 Credits, Loot Packs and more, plus an exclusive “Founder’s Crown” Flair item.

Looks like it’s time for me to download Battleborn.

Stand up and fight for the Thrall! Relive the third Thrall uprising that sparked a revolution within the Jennerit Empire. Run through the slums of the planet Tempest and see what motivated Attikus, firsthand – all with a film noir flair.

“Attikus and the Thrall Rebellion” is the first of five Battleborn DLC Story Operations. Each Operation expands on the Battleborn universe and drops you right into the middle of the action. Story Operations are available as part of the Season Pass and Digital Deluxe edition, or can be purchased through the in-game Marketplace.

Command 28 unique heroes and save the universe from the brink of extinction! Fight alone or alongside friends, play story missions or mow down foes in competitive multiplayer matches.

From the creators of Borderlands comes Battleborn, a new first-person shooter for every kind of badass available now.

Honor. Duty. Explosions! Ernest is prepared for just about any threat – and this is in no small part thanks to his grenade launcher. The various explosive ordinance rounds help Ernest lean on the offensive or provide a mean line of defense for his team.

Even though I have yet to play Battleborn, I would still like to visit the game sometime down the road. I have a feeling it may go “free to play” soon or be really cheap come holiday time… It still catches my interest from time to time but I want Borderlands 3!!!!!

Check out the new Ernest Skills Overview trailer and let us know what you think. Enjoy.

Great news BattleBorn fans; the titles post launch content has been revealed. Players can check out the details below regarding the games DLC and get ready for the games launch!

Check it out:

Free Updates:

Gamers can expect five more heroes hitting after launch – completely FREE – for all platforms, bringing the total roster to 30! And that’s just the beginning of many free updates we’re planning. Competitive multiplayer modes, maps, balance updates, and community features will also be free. When gamers throw down their hard earned cash they want that experience to last. This is why it’s very important to us that we deliver more than $60 worth of content at launch and continue to add more value in the form of free heroes, maps, modes, and other features post-launch.

Paid Add-on Content:

Battleborn’s universe is vast, and we’re happy to say it’ll continue expanding via five new add-on packs. Those that are familiar with Borderlands post-launch content over the years should feel right at home with Battleborn’s add-on packs, each pack will cost $4.99 and include one new Story Operation, as well as exclusive hero skins and taunts. These PvE Operations will be highly replayable solo, or co-operatively online and splitscreen with your friends, and will let you experience new side-stories during the fight to save the last star in the universe.

Gearbox also announced that they will be offering a season pass that will include all 5 add-on packs, as well as new skins and taunts. Sounds good to us!
