Nintendo has announced that a mainline game for the Fire Emblem series is headed to the Nintendo Switch. No other details have been given thus far but they did mention that we can expect the title sometime next year. Fire Emblem Heroes was indeed announced during the official Nintendo Switch Presentation but this newly announced game will follow the traditional Fire Emblem gameplay.
Hopefully we will hear more on the game in the coming months…. Maybe E3 2017?
Nintendo’s next mobile games will be based on Fire Emblem and Animal Crossing. Here is what the company had to say:
Nintendo’s Next Mobile Apps: Building on the positive consumer reaction to Miitomo, Nintendo announced that its next two mobile apps would be based on the familiar and beloved Fire Emblem and Animal Crossing franchises. Nintendo plans to release both of these applications this autumn. As for the former app, while making it more accessible in comparison to the Fire Emblem games for Nintendo’s dedicated gaming systems, Nintendo aims to offer the great value of a role-playing strategy game. Nintendo will design the latter game so that it will be connected with the world of Animal Crossing for dedicated gaming systems. By playing both Animal Crossing games, users will find increased enjoyment. Both of these are pure game applications. Compared to Miitomo, they have more prominent game elements, and the game content will tie closely into Nintendo’s dedicated games business. Nintendo will provide more details about these applications closer to their launch period, and aims to have multiple types of apps that appeal to different audiences and different groups of players.
This information was given during Nintendo’s investor meeting. Seems like both titles would fit perfectly on the mobile (iOS and Android) platform as they have found homes on Nintendo’s own mobile platforms in the past. Count me excited.
Nintendo has announced that the well received Fire Emblem Fates was the best-ever launch for the series. With more than 300,000 units sold between all versions of the Fire Emblem Fates game during its launch weekend, the Nintendo 3DS strategy RPG has earned a place in the record books as the fastest-selling game in the history for the franchise. To put this in perspective, the game sold more than five times as many units as 2013’s Fire Emblem Awakening.
Outstanding news for Nintendo. I will be eager to see how these games sell in the coming months.

The recently announced new entry into the Fire Emblem series will be headed to Nintendo 3DS sometime next year. Nintendo of America has confirmed that those of you who purchase the next Fire Emblem title for the Nintendo 3DS will be able to play as your own custom character and will be tasked with two unique gameplay paths, each with a different outcome.
According to Nintendo Australia, the newly announced Fire Emblem title for Nintendo 3DS will be released later this year. The image above stems from a news letter that was circulating Nintendo of Australia and clearly states that the new Fire Emblem is releasing in 2015. Although no specific release date has been given, we fully expect the game come Holiday.
