We all saw this coming, but it has been announced that Gamestop has sold out its initial allocation of the Nintendo Switch. The retail giant is trying to get more units for their stores and may open pre-orders in the future. Since the Nintendo Switch will launch in only a month and a half, we don’t really see this changing anytime soon…
Nintendo has gone on record stating that there will be manufacturing more systems as well and we will not have a “NES Classic” situation on our hands. We will believe it when we see it (watch out for scalpers my friends).
The good people over at IGN have unboxed a NES Classic Edition console and were nice enough to put together a video. Check it out above and be sure to let us know if you plan on picking this up (if you can find it in stores). Watch as they compare Nintendo’s tiny console (and it’s controllers) to the original system and other Wii accessories.
The good news; Gamestop WILL have the highly sought after NES Classic Mini when it launches next month…. The bad news; apparently you cannot preorder the system. Reports are coming in that the popular retailer will indeed have stock of the NES Classic Mini but the company has decided NOT to take preorders on the system. Not a huge deal in my book, but you may want to get up extra early and make sure you pick up your system.
NES Classic is set to launch in November. If something changes, we will let you know.
According to Gamestop, Nintendo’s upcoming system, codenamed NX, is going to be HUGE! Mike Hogan, EVP Business strategy, states that the system could generate 7.5 billion in sales in the first 2 years. Does Mr.Hogan know something we don’t?
Could be. Keep it here for all you Nintendo NX news and rumors. Stay tuned.
GameStop will be hosting an event next month so that consumers can go hands-on with the New 3DS XL before it launches on February 13th. The event is set to take place on Saturday, February 7 from 1 PM to 4. If you’re thinking about picking up the newest edition of the 3DS, you may want to check it out.
Great news for Sonic fans; if you plan on preorder the upcoming Sonic Boom title for the Wii U at Gamestop, you will be eligible to get a free Sonic figurine. Both versions of the game are eligible for this offer (Nintendo 3DS and Wii U). The figure comes at no extra cost, so if you’re thinking of getting the game, you may want to pre-order at GameStop.
We decided to spend some of our rewards points for the Gamestop rewards program. Check out my unboxing for this sweet Claptrap figure. Be sure to subscribe to us on YouTube and let us know what you think.
Here is the official Pikmin 3 TV commercial for everyone to check out. Pikmin 3 looks absolutely gorgeous and will release on the Wii U August 4th in North America. The game is the first of many set to revive Nintendo’s latest home console and I am very excited to play this next month.
I already have Pikmin 3 fully paid off at my local Gamestop. Will you be getting this one?
Reggie Fils-Aime, Nintendo’s popular NA president, is here to tell you what’s next for Pikmin 3. Players who are eager to play this upcoming Wii U title will be able to get their hands on the game on July 20th and 21st. Over 250 Gamestop locations will take part in this promotion. Don’t miss your chance to play Pikmin 3 at GameStop two weeks before the game goes on sale August 4th!
Although we are 2 months out from the North American release of Nintendo’s next home console Wii U, Gamestop is already clearing shelf space for the highly sought after system. The company has already sold out its allocation for preordering the system so it looks to be a crazy Holiday season for Nintendo.
Let me know if your local Gamestop is already setting up.
