Beyond Good And Evil 2 is apparently now in “pre-production” according to Michel Ancel’s latest teaser image for the upcoming game. Ubisoft has also gone on record stating that they have “no further comment” regarding the game so one can assume (and I am assuming) that the game is most definitely headed to the NX. Maybe I am reaching a bit but if Ubisoft can’t say anything “as of right now”, it really seems like it’s looking to be a NX title. Ubisoft has recently gone on record praising the upcoming Nintendo system and I am really thinking that this is going to become official very soon.
Check out the new Beyond Good And Evil 2 teaser image above and let us know if you are excited about the game.
Oh that Michel Ancel and his teases. Ancel has once again posted another teaser image of what appears to be Beyond Good And Evil 2 related. Although we have not seen or heard of the game lately, it appears as though Ubisoft has been teasing the title more and more lately and we couldn’t be more excited. Beyond Good And Evil 2 has been rumored to be headed to Nintendo’s next home console, codenamed NX, so as soon as we hear something, we will be reporting it.
Michel Ancel is teasing that we may be hearing something soon from the mysterious sequel to the beloved Beyond Good and Evil game. Beyond Good And Evil 2 was shown WAY back but has since vanished from Ubisofts current showing of games. I loved the fact the Ancel and company were going to revisit this much deserving series but we haven’t heard anything in a very long time… With Ubisoft praising the upcoming Nintendo console, codenamed NX, AND with Nintendo (hopefully) revealing the system soon, one would assume that the game would appear on the system in some sort of fashion. I have actually reported some rumors of Nintendo funding the project and I am sold that this game is headed to the system. It would be a major win for the big N if they can score a exclusive like this (Bayonetta 2 anyone) and would be a big part of the NX’s library.
What do you guys think? Am I reaching here or will Beyond Good And Evil 2 be on NX?
Ubisoft is once again singing the praises of Nintendo’s upcoming console, codenamed NX. In an interview with GameSpot, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot had the following things to say regarding the secretive console:
“The new Nintendo [console] is a fantastic machine. It’s really a new approach, it’s really Nintendo, [which is] coming with something new again. We love it.
We always take disruptions on the positive side. We think each time that it’s an opportunity for our creators to take more risks. When a machine is installed, there are a certain number of brands that take up the time of players, so they’re going to buy the next Assassin’s Creed or Call of Duty. Even if they say, ‘I’m interested in what you’re doing,’ at the end of the day they first buy what they know, then go somewhere else. When they change machines, they consider that it is better to try what has been done for that machine. This gives us an opportunity to totally change an IP that we have done before, or to create new experiences and new IPs.
What we see is, players are more open when new hardware is coming. So we have the chance to come with something we have never done before, because we know that if we are the first there, people will try our game and maybe we’ll be able to get into that new genre. As our people wanted to do a game like ZombiU, they were happy they could just use the Wii U to do it. For us, a machine is a tool of expression, but when everything become stable it’s less open to innovation. We always want innovation.
However, if you try something a little new and it’s not perfect, you come back quickly to what you know and works. As a gamer, if you change to new hardware, you have no references, so you’re looking at what people are saying are [the best games] and then trying them. But if you have an [established] machine and there’s all the experiences you know on there already, you know you’re going to miss some of those to try something new, so you’re less inclined. For us, we know opportunities to try something new are a lot more rewarding when it’s a new machine.”
For all things Nintendo NX, keep it here. More as it develops.
Ubisoft has announced that they have a number of Nintendo NX titles in development beyond the yearly series, Just Dance. Ubisoft’s head of EMEA, Alain Corre, has confirmed to Games Industry that the developer and publisher has a number of surprises in the works for the Nintendo NX. Here is that they had to say regarding the Nintendo NX system:
“Another new technology that Ubisoft is excited to support is the Nintendo NX. Of course, Nintendo has yet to say anything at all about its new hardware while the rumor mill continues to present plenty of plausible possibilities, but Corre assures me that Ubisoft is gearing up for a slate of titles beyond Just Dance.”
“We announced that we’re developing Just Dance for NX and we have other surprises that we will announce later, but we also believe Nintendo has the power to reinvent the way families are playing,” Corre tells me. “Nintendo is a fantastic powerhouse of brands that are really cherished by a lot of fans and families… I am still impressed by the reoccurrence of success and appetite even today for the Nintendo franchises on the current system.”
I am fully expecting Ubisoft will have one GIANT title to announce for Nintendo (cough cough, Beyond Good And Evil 2 anyone)…
All rumors are pointing to Nintendo revealing the Nintendo NX next month. As always, we will keep you updated.
As we await for the “official” word from Nintendo regarding their new system, codenamed Nintendo NX, check out a fan mock up of what they think the system will be. As I am sure you have read, the Nintendo NX is RUMORED to be a portable console that will hook into your TV and this person did a fantastic job depicting the recent rumors. Although this may be close to what the portable device will look like, I still think there is something more to the Nintendo NX than everyone knows….
Only time will tell though so be sure to let us know what you guys think about the NX.
As we patiently wait for news regarding the Nintendo NX, the good people over at Eurogamer seem to have uncovered more details regarding the highly anticipated system. Keep in mind, this news should be taken with a grain of salt as we have yet to hear anything official from the big N themselves…. Anyway, here is what the internet outlet is reporting:
Nintendo’s upcoming NX will be a portable, handheld console with detachable controllers, a number of sources have confirmed to Eurogamer.
On the move, NX will function as a high-powered handheld console with its own display. So far so normal – but here’s the twist: we’ve heard the screen is bookended by two controller sections on either side, which can be attached or detached as required.
The website goes on to report that the system will also feature Nvidia’s powerful Tegra mobile processor and that the NX will use game cartridges as its choice of physical media.
Only time will tell if this rumor pans out to be true. I was under the impression that the NX was more of a “platform” concept and will feature a handheld component AND a home console. The two would work in tandem however would NOT be a hybrid system. What do you guys think?
Nintendo has filed a new patent for a single screened handheld device, presumably for the handheld portion for the NX. Twitter user ZhugeEX spotted the new trademark filed with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. The patent describes a “handheld information processing apparatus” that features a single screen which comes with a touchscreen. The device features built-in speakers and a vibration system to provide a “higher sense of immersion.”
Interesting to say the least. Will Nintendo break away from its two screened design? What do you guys think?
Hello everyone and here is another video for the upcoming Nintendo system, code named NX. It appears as though a number of 3rd party developers have seen the system and they are all excited. It’s certainly a great time to be a Nintendo fan and we can’t wait to hear more. Project Red, Take 2 and others seem to be throwing their support for the NX so let’s keep our fingers crossed that we hear more soon. Check the video and be sure to leave a comment.
*Sorry about the audio…. I will get a better mic soon.
Another day, another Nintendo NX rumor…. Well this one points to a previous rumor, which makes it all the more believable (I am already on the “cartridge wagon” anyway), being true. According to a recent patent for The Legend of Zelda Breath of The Wild, the game will come in both disc format AND cartridge format, fueling the fire that the Nintendo NX will indeed use cartridge based media for the system. I love the idea of having a system going back to utilizing cartridges as they will improve load times, have less moving parts and be more durable than compact discs.
We expect a full Nintendo NX reveal in the very near future, so keep it here my friends. What do you guys think?
