Overwatch has just announced that they will be holding an all new event for the popular team-based FPS. The new event will feature “The Year of The Rooster” and will begin on January 24th. Check out the image below for a sneak peak of D.Va’s new event-related skin.
IGN had a chance to sit down with the promising-looking RIME game and were night enough to record the first 27 minutes of the action. Find out what happens next when you wake up on a beach in a gorgeous land of secrets. RIME was originally planned for PS4 but is now headed to Nintendo Switch as well as XBOX One. I am SUPER happy that this game is getting a “Second life” as it disappeared for a little while but is now back. I cannot wait to get my hands on it and will be picking it up on the Nintendo Switch (so I can play it wherever I go).
Check it out and let us know if RIME is up your alley.
Game Informer has shared their upcoming cover for the February edition of the publication. The upcoming magazine will feature our GOTY, Overwatch and should be on store shelves in the very near future. The magazine will also list its top 50 games for 2016 so be sure to give it a read.
The good people over at IGN have re-revealed the promoting Rime game that was revealed a while back. The Zelda inspired title was originally headed to PS4 but is now headed to multiple consoles. Rime will not hit PC, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch along with PS4 as well. More as it develops.
The all new Overwatch map is now available for download on the PS4 and XBOX One systems. I cannot wait to test this new map out and if you want to watch me play it, click here and follow me on Twitch.
Overwatch won our Game of The Year for 2016 and will be supported well into this new year. I cannot wait. Here is the official rundown for the new map:
There’s trouble in paradise as conflict breaks out in Oasis, a brand-new Control map set in one of the world’s most advanced cities, a shining jewel rising from the Arabian Desert.
Researchers and academics from around the region came together to found a city dedicated to scientific progress without restraints—a monument to human ingenuity and invention. The city and its inhabitants are governed by the Ministries, a collection of brilliant minds who possess many secrets that have attracted the interest of powerful organizations from around the world.
On this map, teams will need to dodge vehicles and utilize jump pads to capture and defend three unique control points.
Today is the last day of 2016. It was a great year in gaming and 2016 brought some of the best titles that I have played in quite a while. Uncharted 4 dazzled me with its outstanding graphics and incredible gameplay while the successful revival of the gruesome DOOM video game made gamers everywhere smile with gory joy. Forza Horizon 3 for XBOX One was a massive accomplishment, while the new Pokemon games took the mobile world by storm (both 3DS AND iOS). Battlefield 1 is the new crowned king for the “wartime FPS” genre while Gears of War 4 rocked everyone’s world. Yes my friends, 2016 was a very memorable year for video games but one game that stood out more than the others was Blizzard’s OUTSTANDING Overwatch.
Overwatch is one of those “special” games. One that comes along once in a generation that just grabs your attention and never lets go. It was released great and has grown to become even greater. Adding maps, new gameplay elements, characters and skins, Overwatch has sucked up most of my gaming time for 2016. It’s spot on gameplay and beautiful graphics sprinkled my Sony Television well into the night and made me feel like a kid again. I played and played and played this game until my fingers hurt and still came back for more. Overwatch has a massive set of lovable characters and the more I play, the more I fall in love.
I could go on and on about the game but I wanted to just keep things short and sweet and announce what game we thought deserved to be 2016’s Game of the Year. Overwatch is like a Pixar movie with guns and is the ultimate team based FPS. My buddy and I have played this game until our eyes bled and I don’t see us stopping anytime soon. I know this may be a “safe” pick for GOTY, but Overwatch IS that special.
Thanks for reading this quick little article and we want to know what YOUR game of the year is. Let us know in the comment section.

January should be a good month my friends. Do I smell a Nintendo Switch version?
Game director Jeff Kaplan recaps Overwatch’s incredible year and discusses what’s on the horizon in 2017, including potential hero balances, new maps, new heroes, and several quality of life improvements.
