Sony Has Officially Announced The New PS4

Ahead of E3 2016, Sony has “officially” announced the all new PS4. President and global CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment Andrew House told the Financial Times that the “high-end PS4” will also be more expensive than the company’s current $350 offering. The PlayStation 4 launched in November 2013 at $400.

The system has been very much rumored but now has been officially outed by Sony. House also confirmed the console is indeed nicknamed “Neo” as many news outlets have already reported. He went on to state that the upgraded system is aimed at enthusiast gamers or anyone looking to consume 4K content.

I am now interested to see how Sony plans on revealing the officially announced system. Stay tuned and keep it here for more information regarding PS4 Neo.

PS4 Neo Launch Time Leaked

Has the PS4 Neo launch time been leaked? Well, according to a press release from French video game distributor Innelec Multimedia, the new PS4 (codenamed Neo) will launch before October of this year. This points to a possible September release for the upgraded PS4 and we fully expect to hear more at E3 next month. The press release from Innelec stated that the “Neo 4K” (as the company refers to it) will arrive at some point in the first half of the company’s fiscal year, which lasts from April – September 2016.

Since this was released, the company has back-peddled a bit on the statement but may have let the cat out of the bag… More as it develops.
