News for PSVR Sales have been released and the company has stated that the hardware has sold through 915K units. In an official statement (found below), Sony shared the exciting news and we hope to hear more about what’s coming to the hardware at this year’s E3. Check out the official press release here:
Tokyo, February 27, 2017 –Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) today announced that PlayStation®VR (PS VR), a virtual reality system for PlayStation®4 (PS4®), has cumulatively sold through 915,000*1 worldwide as of February 19, 2017.
“Since its October launch, PS VR continues to be well received by people around the world thanks to the high quality, revolutionary VR experience it offers. With more than 53.4million*2 PS4 units sold through globally we firmly believe PlayStation VR will take the lead position in the VR market” said Andrew House, President and Global CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment. “We are increasing production to meet demand and will continuously support content developers as they create innovative VR experiences that are only possible on PlayStation.”
The number of PS VR software titles and experiences reached more than 100 globally as of February 19, 2017, and the number of developers and publishers has increased to more than 360, ranging from smaller independent teams to the industry’s top publishers as well as a range of entertainment companies across movies and music. Currently there are more than 220 software titles and content in development for PS VR with highly anticipated launches on their way, including ACE COMBAT 7 (BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment Inc.), FINAL FANTASY XV (SQUARE ENIX CO., LTD.), STEEL COMBAT (COLOPL, Inc.), TEKKEN 7 (BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment Inc.), Farpoint, Gran Turismo Sport (SIE WWS) in addition to video content. By the end of 2017, over 100 new software titles and experiences are expected to be released.
1 million copies have already been sold for the newly released PS4 exclusive, Nioh. The game has received a ton of praise in the way of reviews and the title looks to be setting the retail shelves on fire. I have yet to play the game, but that won’t stop me. Nioh has also been kind of hard to find at retail so if you see a copy, make sure you pick one up. As a thank you to players, a special suit of armor will be released with the next patch. Mass Effect fans, this just in; Mass Effect: Andromeda has officially gone gold. The company announced the exciting news via twitter and has the gaming public pretty excited about the title. Since we have been posting some Mass Effect: Andromeda video’s, our anticipation for the game has steadily grown. I actually have skipped out on the first couple in the series but this one has really caught my attention.

The Behemoth is a huge, rugged transport-class machine that uses anti-gravity technology to transfer precious cargo from smaller acquisition-class machines into its stomach container. When provoked, it may charge at the enemy or use its anti-gravity unit to hurl heavy objects. It is also equipped with a set of grinding drills that allow it to grind and propel rock projectiles.
Soaring through the sky at high altitude, the fearsome Stormbird is a combat-class machine that can swoop down and attack its prey with tremendous force. It is just as dangerous on land as it is in the air, with a variety of swift and powerful attacks that range from wing blasts to claw slashes. Its enormous metal wings are capable of collecting and discharging the electricity in the air.
