Tomb Raider Review

The all new Tomb Raider is a shining example of how a reboot to a series should be done. Not only does the new Tomb Raider meet my high expectations for this title, it shattered them and brought Lara Croft back from the brink of obscurity. The new reboot is near flawless and is a true testament to the team at Crystal Dynamics.

New Super Mario Bros. U Review

Something strange happened to me while playing the New Super Mario Bros for Wii U. Within the first opening hour of the game I was transported to my younger days of gaming and felt pure joy while playing the title.

I will fully admit that when Nintendo announced that a New Super Mario title was headed to Wii U, I was a bit disappointed to learn that the game would not be in 3D. After an hour or so of playing this all new Mario adventure, all those fears were erased and what was left was a very fun video game.

ESPN Sports Connection Review

Here is the good news; the good guys over at Ubisoft have really thrown their support for Nintendo’s newest home console with a number of high quality titles right at launch… The bad news; ESPN Sports Connection simply isn’t one of them. It’s not that the title is terrible, it’s just that something like this has already been done before and it’s going to be hard to top Nintendo’s own Wii Sports franchise.

Borderlands 2 Review

Borderlands 2 has captivated my interest and has yet to let go. I have Gunzerked, Mechoromanced and Commanded my way through this outstanding game of the year contender and I keep coming back for more. Borderlands 2 reminds me of the times when I was a kid and collected football cards. The allure of running to my favorite card store and cracking open a pack to see what treasures lie inside was a feeling of pure joy and now has been replicated in this game…. Only instead of collecting football cards, in Borderlands 2 you collect guns; lots and lots of guns! Having missed the first in the series, Borderlands 2 has quickly become my top runner for game of the year for 2012.
